Gonna ask, how do you get on with the KCNC stuff, i.e. no float - I suspect fine as running DI2...

I have no issues at all with the KCNC stuff it is well made, and cleans up really well, It also looks great imho and is reasonably light. I have no issues recommending them. I just fancy trying something new this time round, if they are not up to scratch KCNC will go on shortly after.

I'm interested in purchasing the following jockey wheels for one of my bikes, in the quest to reduce its weight but I noticed that they are made of aerospace grade delrin
http://www.ultimateceramicbearings.co.uk/product.php?id_product=54

I have discovered that Dupont make this material but know little else about the material, its properties or uses.
http://www2.dupont.com/Dordrecht_Plant_Site/en_NL/sites_products/ddt/delrin.html

Can anyone provide any more information on this material and its suitability to manufacture jockey wheels from?

Wheels Manufacturing use the stuff extensively, my BB30 to 24mm adapters are made from the stuff and it seems to be tough as old boots, no wear / movement in over 1000K!

They were also very helpful in answering my questions about Delrin when I was researching the stuff..........

You don't grasp the n+0.005 upgrade !!!
Been there, done it. ^_^
i understand it all too well - i have WW'ed a couple of bikes, the last of which I logged weight and cost in a spreadsheet - the most I paid to is £ 6.28 per gramme - but that was a shorter stem with a bit more rise, the weight saving was not the primary purpose of replacing the stem.

You sure it was Delrin? It is one of the easier plastics to machine and deburr. Just need something sharp. I love machinging it. Nylon66 on the other hand...

Ha, a man who knows what he's talking about. Nylon is a nightmare, Acetal is lovely. Have you tried PEEK? Easy enough to machine but the swarf is like Spiderman's er ............... spider web stuff! Super strong. And don't get me started on PTFE. Bloody stuff keeps extruding itself out of the chuck..................

(I am a cnc turner running swiss lathes, used to operate / set capstan, and the odd bit of milling in the past)

Me too, except I'm on fixed head machines, DooSan, Kia, Hitachi etc. Plus a bit of Bridgeport VMC.

And we've still got a Herbert 2D in the back of the shop that more than earns its keep!
