I remember just a few years ago,our Dentist said he could save my tooth.£300 i informed him that was more than a Postmans wage for a week at work,pull it out.

Could have been worse, I spent £2,000 on three new front teeth following an off (pothole) two years ago.

The titanium bike I had planned still hasn't featured in any financial planning although I've now paid for the teeth.

Would a crown not have been a better option than the large polymer filling, similar sort of cost but probably last longer.

DIY dentistry is the way to go.

like removing the wonky half of a cracked tooth with a pair of radio pliers and a good slug of single malt as an antiseptic

Just an end note to this thread...........................................................

I should have bought the wheels and had the tooth taken out as I was back at the dentist yesterday having it removed anyway.....

Mrs V said "are you going to think about a denture plate?"

I relied that I may do at some point (but after I've sorted a new set of wheels this time) the tooth can't hurt any more so I'm leaving any more visits to the dentist (hopefully) until the next check-up
