Inspired by the Ed Harris thread below, I am currently arguing that Denzel Washington is currently the best actor around on the basis that it is impossible to name a bad movie of his.
Training Day, American Gangster, The Hurricane, Philadelphia, Malcom X, Man on Fire, Crimson Tide, Inside Man...
Hell, even when he's making some pretty run of the mill stuff; Taking of Pelham 123, Deja Vu, they are still perfectly good and watchable films.
And yes, before you argue I know he's had alot of help. Ethan Hawke in Training Day. Tom Hanks in Philidelphia. Clive Owen in Inside Man. TBF, John Travolta of all people probably saved Pelham 123 from medioctiry.
But Im still to be convinced otherwise.
