Hey guys,

Today I just got a second hand wahoo kickr off Facebook for £700. It's the 2018 model and works fine on the guys bike who was selling it.

Just got it home and realised that I have no idea how I am going to put my bike on it... The axel is completely different and there is no way for me to put mine through.

I see there is a snap axel adapter but is that for the wahoo kickr snap. Feel like I have been a total idiot here and bought two expensive things that dont work Togehter. Oh I'm useless.

Why not buy a cheap and cheerful old winter bike for use on the Wahoo, and outside when the weather is bad? Something used might be nice as well.

Your bike has a "through axle", and the trainer uses a conventional quick release fastening. It should be quite straightforward to use an adaptor.

You will need to confirm the size of your particular through axle, which is probably something like 12x142 mm. Then, choose an appropriate adapter for your trainer.

Something like this will likely do the trick: https://uk.wahoofitness.com/devices/accessories/kickr-142x12-mountain-bike-adapter

Just to add... Looking at your picture of the non-drive side of the trainer, with the QR skewer through it, it looks like there's a piece missing. Shouldn't there be a little spacer in there, with a stubby axle sized end, similar to what you have on the drive side? It may not matter, as you would replace that spacer with a different one if you use a through axle adapter. But you should have got one with the trainer, and you would need it if you wanted to use a QR bike on there in the future.

There are adaptors for different axles.

Warning, there are several major issues with the silent Kickr'18 models. Beware it might be faulty already or will fail.

Common issues, clunking noise(repair kit), vibration and or noise- return to manufacturer for replacement, and loss of power/speed/resistance- static discharge damage pcb again return to manufacturer.

It’s an easy solution. However I’d be more worried about it been a KickR.
You could have bought a brand new Neo 1 for £800
