Yip, I went out for 33 miles this morning  The drivers were full of festive cheer, not! (full of the festive spirit (alcoholic) more likely) despite the roads being almost empty (at a guess one car every 3-5 mins). I first had the driver behind me not being happy with me sitting out 3ft from the kerb on a downhill even though the road was straight and wide; there were 55mph gusts so there was no way I was riding in the gutter. To show their disgust at me not instantly vanishing into the gutter at the sound of their parp they overtook just 3-5 inches from my bars  Further along the coast I met another driver who just went straight through where I would have been cutting me up on the tight corner  . Quite a while later, when I was almost home, I got the usual muppet passenger shout (probably still drunk from the night before), I think it was 'you'll be getting an ambulance for Christmas' ; I just retorted with 'aye and Merry Christmas to you too' it seemed to shut him up :becool: .

Anyway Merry Christmas to one and all! :santa:

My wife insisted I get out for a ride. She understands I get twitchy if I go a few days without a road visit, and I've been down for the last few days with a Virus. So she was kind enough to wrangle 2 overtired little boys whilst I did a quick 15miles. At least that should have burnt off pudding!!!

At 5:45 pm, we all felt as though we had over-indulged. Some of us had a nap but I knew that a blast of fresh air would suit me better. Six miles down the Thames path into a slight headwind , and six miles back on the other bank with a tailwind. It was just great.

yep....been out this morning...just a quickie though.

Hey Mr Hippo...what were you handing out in that video?

16 miles through some nice quiet lanes and then a fast A-road (A530). Did plan to do more but having not been out riding proper for a while I shortened my route considerably. It was a ride nonetheless.

I rode about 20 miles in 2 hours around the streets, cycle paths, lanes and parks of Norwich today gathering clues to set for this coming Wednesday's Norwich AlleyCat Bicycle treasure Hunt: I have now got the 25 clues I needed, and treasure hunters will need to cycle anywhere between 7 and 15 miles depending upon the route they plan.

Cubs are away with my ex for the duration, so I rode over to my mum's for Christmas dinner. I had faffed and procrastinated plenty, so was a bit late setting off... so opted for straight down the A1079 which I wouldn't normally do. The stonking tailwind helped, and a lot less traffic than usual, but I eventually got fed up and diverted to the laney route for the last couple of miles. Got there in time to do the veg and gravy, stuffed myself silly, nattered a while and opened my present from my sister who had imported a bike bell from canada because it matched my hair (orange) and new bike+tagalong (red). Then the lanes back home - more or less into the wind the whole way, but it was warm and dry, quiet and dark and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 30+ miles for the day - which maybe doesn't sound like that much, but is the most I've ridden since my spectacular prat fall in September when I fractured my elbow. Plus I clocked up about 25 yesterday. And this evening my elbow doesn't particularly hurt. I think I might actually be able to do a proper bike ride again one day!
