That was nasty.....

diesel slick across a roundabout, good job the traffic was fairly busy forciong me to have stopped before entering the RAB, if I'd gone across it at speed I'd have been offed for sure

Anything good for cleaning diesel residue off tyres? Even after passing it and only just keeping upright I nearly came off the next corner as my front tyre was that coated in diesel...ended up taking side roads/cycle paths and pushing on the pavement for the next mile after even slight braking sent me into my 3rd front wheel skid on anything wet

It was fairly unpleasant along several miles of my commute this morning. It's another complaint I have against traffic 'calming'. All the efforts to swerve around chicanes and speed cushions, the accelerating, braking and thumping over speed humps just leaves a slick of spilt diesel - a slick of diesel exactly where a cyclist doesn't need it on changing, bumpy road surfaces. I know what you mean about residue on tyres, the rest of the journey just feels dicey.

West Bar Roundabout, brings back memories, born and lived in Sheffield until I was 21, really miss the place, especially for cycling, great hills everywhere, and I used to cycle to work when I worked at the MSC at the bottom of the moor.
