I've got one eye and my father is a farmer, so was my grandfather.

Are you doing anything later, Crockers?
Plaster casts can hurt when you're hit with one!

It's only a chain but the Toby Carvery up by Middlemoor around the corner I've always found to be pleasant enough- none of your list happened to me on the dozen or so times I visited when in the area.
I'm sure there are nicer but that's always a fall back.

Get yourself down to Topsham, a selection of nice pubs down that way, you can catch a train from Digby or it's not a long Taxi ride. Good pubs, Lighter Inn on the Quay, sit outside if it's nice on the Estuary.. or go into town and get down to the river, good stuff there, not city centre, they're all a bit ..corporate.

The Barn Owl, near Sowton Roundabout, is okay if you don't want to travel far.
I saw a dog without a lower jaw one time in a Bicester pub. It was nice enough and soppy, massive, just no lower jaw. It also decided to spend all night lying by the pool table making one side of the thing unplayable.
That's so Bicester.
