I use one on my Thorn, and on the Catrike. Everyone comments on it, and no-one feels threatened...


However if you want lightweight and classy the look at the "Sogreni" bells, but be prepared to pay!

Where do you keep them all? In a draw, on a bar? Just sitting on a shelf?
Do you get them out every so often, ring them slightly to check they still work, smile, then hide them back away?

I used to have one. Lovely, non-threatening two-tone ring. But it was huge.

Does anyone know whether there's a smaller version, that won't single-handedly take up the whole of my handlebars?

Your plan is floored. Phones have a different sound to them then real life, so you wont actually hear the actual sound of the bell.

I use a bulb horn. Great on shared paths with pedestrians. It never ceases to raise a smile.

you mean flawed
phones' limitation is that they only transmit up to 4kHz, whereas the human ear can hear from ~20Hz - 20kHz., but 4kHz is actually quite high pitched. even 1kHz is fairly high pitched. To give a comparison, most speech is 80Hz - 450Hz. If what you require from a bell is that it has excellent sound quality in the above 4kHz range then you probably need to be visiting a specialist bell manufacturer in person.

Alternatively you could use one of those things that really annoys teenagers but that people over 30 can't hear
