And if you actually watch a whole Carry On Film - not just a handful of funny clips - they are really dire.
But the actors knew that, they were professionals who were in it for the paycheque. Except I'm sure Kenneth Williams was torturing himself about his art.

As has already been said, he maybe thought of as a mysoginist by today's standards, but his autobiography is a good read.

Sad news, he was in one of my favourite 'mini series' ever called 'Love on a branch line', I'd post a linky but this new 'Chromebook'
