Maybe he is a dickhead, but overtaking him with 3" clearance while screaming at him doesn't exactly make the cyclist a fricken hero. This is just the sort of abusive behaviour motorists lay on us. Doing this does not make this cyclist part of the solution.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there is no jaywalking law in the UK, so that equal access to the road actually means something there. If this is right, it is a GOOD thing and hardly something that should elicit road rage when a pedestrian chooses to practice his right to use the road.

If this cyclist wants to be safe on the roadway, he should try riding farther into the lane. That way, he'll avoid the danger posed by road-runners, and that of left-hooking motorists.

(edited because I got the wrong end of the stick at first)

Watched a few of his videos:

One in which he tries to filter at a dangerous speed without any care past a queue of all of TWO cars as the lights change and nearly has a collision, shouts his head off at the motorist.

Another one where he shouts "W*NKER" at a minivan that is partially and possibly inadvertently obstructing a cycle lane.... as he passes it on the totally empty offside lane (with no delay to his journey)...

Terrible, terrible cyclist.

This incident is totally the cyclists fault. He has stated that there were cyclists behind him, and the campervan deliberately blocked the cycle lane, but that does not on any level constitute shouting at him.

Errors on the cyclists part: Shouting at driver and not expecting a reasonable response. Cycling in a very narrow and dangerous cycle lane. Cycling in the door zone. Mounting pavement and nearly colliding with another cyclist. Getting into a confrontation with the driver.

Errors on the drivers part: Stopped in the cycle lane (intentionally or not). Passing cyclist very close in retaliation. Blocking cycle lane and forcing cyclist into middle of the road. Getting out of vehicle and attempting to push cyclist off. Cutting cyclist up and attempting to brake test him.

The cyclist did at the end what he should have done at the start. Just avoided the driver. The whole incident was caused by the cyclists overreaction to something trivial.

This one made me laugh. Such an overreaction. Yes, he was severely left hooked, but I suspect after he had gone around the front of the car, it drove away. Therefore he was just swearing to himself. I have no idea how embarrasing it must be to know such a person. This cyclist would benefit from being slapped.

Glad you realised it's not my video clip, Ian, and that I'm disappointed with the cyclist, not the runner.

Yeah, sorry about that. Haven't been here quite long enough (obviously) to figure out who's who and the general attitude of the forum towards such stuff. And I've spent too long on a certain US-based forum that should not be named, where all sorts of attitudes (from very good to very bad) can be found.

The jogger really has no need to be running in the cycle lane in a heavy queue of vehicles like that. Saying that I wouldn't shout, i'd just ignore him - why he is doing it i'm not sure.
