I didn't get a single cycle related gift for xmas.
Not so much as a new bell.
I bought my son pump and lights and socks with bikes on.
For Mr6 I got new gloves. I even got the littler ones stickers to pimp their bikes.
But Santa forgot about my obsession.
Ah well, I will go shopping at the weekend!

But your a girl. You should be getting, a Ronco Buttoneer or a Miracal broom, or a Splatter screen.

Don't you work in a bike shop - or at least halfords? Or am I confusing you with some else? Because I'm hesitant to buy someone a gift who might be able to buy it at staff discount.

(and I got a classic women's gift: a camelbak!)

It's also hard to buy things for someones hobby incase it's not the right thing or not what they wanted... My parents wanted to get me something cycling related, but had no idea what i'd want or what ive got so asked me to just tell them. I sent them an email with a link for to some nice Ergon grips on CRC and then had to explain why they aren't the same as the £3 bike grips in Wilkinsons :surrender:

I don't much like the whole commerical presents obligation thing although I enjoy buying presents for others, but I don't like other people wasting their money buying me surprise things I don't need.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Trick is to pre - empt and spread the word - "if anyone wnats to know what to get me for x mas cash would be great as i need it for essential parts " spread around a few choice people does wonders i find
The go for the bling as its "essential "

I was a little disappointed too. Only cycling related item I got was a pair of Castelli bib shorts. I had dropped several hints, mentioning waterproof gloves, sealskin socks among other things. Looks like I will have to spend my own money, how inconvenient!
