Disc brake pads squealing/contaminated

I have seen something on a previous post but can't find it for the life of me. The said post recommended putting contaminated disc pads in a hot oven as this should ideally burn off the contamination.
Well having another set of contaminated pads for some reason, I duly put them in a hot oven for 20 minutes.... and bingo pads no longer squeal and are fine again. Maybe worth a try for others if they have the same problem.

If you get it wrong, the pad material will 'unbond' from the metal plate in a very hot oven. Occasionally I get squeaky disc brakes, I just wipe the rotors with Isopropyl alcohol and squirt some pad cleaner into the calliper which usually sorts it.

I'm sure it could easily go wrong but I thought give it ago and see what happens.

Last time I tried that the missus served them up with, mash, green beans, carrots & ceramic onion gravy...

I use a blow torch on mine with some isopropyl, works a treat.
