Disc braked bike with 700c wheels - Bristol area.

I am after a disc braked hybrid bike to use for commuting & general family riding/trails. I am 5'11" tall.

Ideally something I can look over first, so within say 20 miles of Bristol ?

It will need to have rack mounts for the child seat we use, and be fairly robust.

I can't compromise on the disc brakes as this will be ridden in all weathers on salty roads. I am open minded about having drop or flat bars on it though. A well maintained cyclocross bike might fit the bill....

Time to keep my Defy for best/summer sunshine !

Let me know if you have anything. Budget is about £250-300 for this workhorse.

whats the max budget mate? i have my Cannondale Tiagra Synapse for sale but after a bit more than £300

Thanks. That's a lovely bike but I think I'd need something beefier for the family rides.
