I shall never watch bbc news again. A French national was beheaded today and the BBC reported it in less than 5 seconds. If it had been American, it would have been headline and a long report on it. The BBC also keeps reporting the air strikes by America, forgetting completely that France is also involved in air strikes. I firmly think now that the BBC is heavily biased towards the USA and disregards other countries. I shall watch ITV news from now on and hope it will better balanced.

Have you not considered that it might be a starve ISIS of publicity strategy? Terrorist atrocities terrorise only if they are given the oxygen of publicity.

Or could it be that its 'just' another such death? Had he been the first he may have gained massive BBC coverage, and if an American were the latest it might be they who get a mere mention.

Yesterday's headlines, tomorrows cat litter.

So your saying the beeb dont like the French?

I've got to say that myself got a little excited watching the air strikes last night on the beeb, I then spent most of what was left of the evening googling it

I'll be amazed if ITV is any different.

And have you noticed that since Susannah Reid left the Beeb, the news channel have wheeled out every last bit of middle aged crumpet they can lay their hands on in a desperate attempt to boost flagging ratings?

Well, it's worked. Spend most of my day drooling at the telly now.

Can anyone spare a thought for the actual victim?! The poor bloke went on holiday to what he must've thought was a safe country. The murderers weren't seriously after any deals they just wanted to behead an "infidel" or whatever stupid name they use. Anyone want a cheap package holidays to Algeria? If so there'll be plenty,as folk wise up and realise that dumps like Algeria are not safe for western tourists!

Uh, what, and you've only just noticed

Its always been that way for the main stream media. Annoying yes, its the same with films, plenty of great European films, though they never get air time, well sometimes at 3am in the morning on a Sunday night they may

Though some poor Die Hard 22 series 10 with Claud Van Bloody Dam gets prime time showing on Saturday night at 9pm instead  and its been repeated

Edit, not Caud Van Dam, I mean Bruce Willis, him thats just died, or I wish he was dead anyway, then he couldn't make any more cr"* films

I have to say the BBCs coverage of the Scottish referendum was flagrantly biased. As a journalist of many years standing I would have been embarrassed to be associated with that coverage.

As to the beheadings, well they didn't do much better with the British guy who was beheaded in Syria. When I get up early one morning to go out on my bike ride, I usually take a quick gander at the news website and that particular day they led with the northern lights being seen in Ireland, with the beheading posted as one of the lesser news items. In fact, it was so underplayed even there that I thought at first it must be a reference to one of the earlier ones.i was amazed to read it was a fresh story and involving a British citizen at that.

Again, as a journalist - not for any UK outlet, I hasten to say - I was flabbergasted. Later on in the day the story was moved up, but it is clear it wasn't the editor's first instinct. They really are a pretty poor lot.
