DIY Audax night ride to the coast

Just getting into preparing for LEL 2013 and am looking for some help/cycle buddies.

I've never done an Audax ride before and I want to get some night practice in the 200-300 km range before I up the distance. I live in Manchester I wondered about doing a night ride to the coast and back - probably Blackpool (about 200 km return).

I wondered if anyone wanted to join me in a DIY Audax plan and ride?

Not knocking the idea but I think you would get more of a feel for Audaxing if you did a calendar event with other riders.I know that long rides are thin on the ground this late in the year but there should be a 200 you could do or just ride to and from a 100 to make it longer and give you some night riding.

I have looked at calendar events but none fit for me in 2011. I hoping to do the Manchester loop (permanent) and want to get a night ride in as well. Will be looking at scheduled events for 2012 and it will be great to meet with people who have actually done a few rides.

Now, back to the DIY idea...

Comes in at 230km though and takes me about 13 hours

Hi. Im easy. Not this sunday as I m doing 200km (Broken Cross) From Macclesfield

1st October Im doing Vention nights 200km from (Broken Cross) Macclesfield

As Im not working at the moment anytime is OK except Tuesdays

Can't do those dates anyway or I would have been on the rides!

Is it a night ride you do to Liverpool or is daytime preferred. Happy to do a mix if that suits.

How about Wednesday 14 or Sunday 18 of this month ? Weather pending. No point going out in the rain.

That Manchester Loop is pretty hardcore. 200km of climbing and decending hills all day lol

Going out for lunch date (wife's birthday) on first and working on second. How about 28th?

The view of Wales from West Kirby
The ferry accross the Mersey (or tube train)

Hi. you register with me. Its my event . It comes under Manchester Velodrome on the audax site under permanents. Dont worry about the brevet card. Ill bring you the brevet card on the day.
