DK57 LCL - Sainsbury's HGV driver I thank you.

Just wanted to mention this driver:

Dear Sainsburys

I'd like to compliment your driver, whom I encountered on Saturday morning commuting into London. I first encountered the lorry with registration DK57 LCL near Lewisham, and given the flow of traffic we passed and repassed each other a few times until Vauxhall, so I had plenty of time to notice how exceptionally good his/her driving was. I particularly appreciated the driver's patience in waiting behind me a couple of times when it wasn't safe to overtake. I'm sure he or she will remember this as I was riding an unusual black recumbent bicycle.

I'd like to request that this be noted on the driver's record, and my thanks and compliments passed to both the driver and his/her manager.

I have the general impression that Sainsburys drivers are well above average.

It's nice, but I bet it gets binned unless you send it to their CEO. Big companies get so much mail that, unless it's a complaint, they bin most of it. Send it to justin.king@sainsburys.co.uk

He's their CEO.

This way the driver is more likely to get rewarded.

If they've got a 'hows my driving' number it might be a good idea to ring it. The people you deal with are just some standard call centre, but I got a response from tescos depot manager or someone from it.

Step back for a moment, folks, and consider: does this driver want to be plaudited? He/she may be quite modest, and may be embarrassed to receive a 'gong'. I know I would be, should I ever find myself in this situation.

Yes, it will be. Sainsbury's have a large pool of tractor units which are in use pretty much all the time and as far as I know (from the odd shift I've done for them) they're assigned at random.

I drive for Sainsburys and am also a cyclist.

I will be returning to work on Thursday and will print a copy of this forum off for the transport office.

The registration number you quoted contrary to what the other posters have posted is based at Allington, our chilled depot near Maidstone, however at the moment it is on loan to our depot at Charlton, where I am based.

Thankyou again for the praise and this will be passed along to the driver concerned.
