No. And even if they did introduce a bit of drag, that would be outweighed by the added safety factor.

Wearing a helmet whilst in drag would definitely be a different look, especially if on a bike!

For your average cyclist? no. besides, Unless your in a race you really benefit from the plethora of inefficiencies found in the world of cycling. You do not get fast by perfecting your kit but by building your fitness level

All you really quick guys see Tour de France Teams go Aero. IIRC didn't Cavendish use a helmet cover for the same effect sometimes during the 2011 Tour? - resulting in the UCI banning them?
