Need a new battery for my golf estate - I've found the equivalent (year/model/engine) hatchback listed - would I be safe in assuming the estate takes the same battery?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Assuming the engine bay is the same. Or just get the battery that matches your reg/model. Euro carparts allow search by reg for example, or ask your local motor factors/garage
Thanks - 075 as it turns out. £35, delivered, in 24 hrs. Don't you just love t'internet! There should be a code on your existing battery such 063 which will tell you all you need to know about it.
As Golfs are common cars, any decent motor factors should know what fits it anyway when you give model/year/engine size.
VW batteries always seem to have the terminals the opposite way around from anything else.
If it's a volkswagen diesel be careful disconnecting the old battery because this will release all the pollution stored in the ECU by VW's dodgy engine management software.![]()
Reminds me of an electrician some years ago, looking sadly at some frazzled cables on a machine...However, if it was a British car, you could possibly substitute that emissions for genuine Lucas harness smoke
