I've never really seen why people think this.

Hang out on social media sites more. Always something controversial going on. Social media sites are rife with issues like these. Even on YouTube to a certain extent. So long as you hold an opinion on anything at all, there will always be that person or group of people that disagree and get mad about it because thats just what these people do on the Internet

I don't think that forums make people angry, more that angry people flock to forums like flies round a goat's bum.

Shouldn't that be fora or perhaps forii in the title, either way Forums are just wrong.
I pointed that out once on these very fora, but was told I'm out of date, and apparently forums is now the accepted plural.

It made me almost as depressed as when I learned that "their" is in increasingly-accepted use as a third-person singular gender-neutral pronoun. As a holder of a Linguistics degree, I understand languages change, but why the bloody hell did English have to change in my lifetime, dammit!

It seems some people get in a bit of a tis on forums, some get envious, for some it makes them sad, etc.

Maybe they should come with a health warning.

Personally I do not get as wound up as some seem to, if I did I have the will power to stop visiting them.

It's the lack of body language and audio queues that make messages appear blunt, and rude. Quite often the same things could be said face to face without generating the same emotional response.

Of course, once upset and having communicated that, all you will receive is another emotionless response...and so on.
