Just been slapped on the derriere on the way home. Narrowish road doing between 22 and 25mph (so the slap was not too harsh).
Passenger on the drivers side slapped me bum on the way passed and thought it was hilarious.
Caught them up at a roundabout.
Mouthed at her "you think that was funny?" and they managed to drive off. Chickens.
Should have got in front of them and confronted them as loads of people were around.
Young girl in the passenger seat - got a pretty good description - should have taken her picture.
Got the reg etc of the car.
What do you think - this is my usual route and there is no real alternative for my commute.......
...advice needed folks.

Going to buy a helmet camera now though

Report it. Please. You could have had a serious accident. The police can go around there and have a quiet word with them. I bet you if they do then you will not have any more hassle off them.

Just off the phone with them...they are on their way around....fingers crossed now.

The problem might be that I think I recognised the girl as a student from my school - could make tomorrow interesting!

.............. take it as a compliment unless she was an old slapper ;).

On a practical note how is a helmet cam going to help? The slapper presumably came from behind, unless you buy 2 cams, one facing forwards and the other rear wards? The trick is to look behind more and eyeball any car and driver that looks like it is going to close pass which I guess is what the driver did for the passenger to able to lean out and slap your bum.

I got slapped on the bum and wolf whistled when out on a sunday ride a few years ago. The perpetrator was a rather nice looking lady, 22 years old, in a summer dress and also her friend in a BMW Z4 convertible out for a sunday drive causing trouble. I saw them approach and had an inkling what might happen. It wasn't that hard and didn't cause me to wobble too much or any distress. I felt great for a few days :bicycle:. It made a change from BMW and Audi drivers trying to run me down or off the road during the week.

Of course people react differently to things and you obviously feel totally different to how I did about it. I wonder if your incident was filmed in which case it could be on the net or facebook now with all her friends and scrotes viewing it. Anyway I hope you get the resolution you want.

Initially I was flattered - about a seconds worth.
It was an old Nissan! W reg!
She was about 16 - so I would have been locked up by the thought police!

Front cam would have got her arm going back inside after passing me so would have been evidence - also would have filmed them once I got up to them again. And maybe it would have given me the confidence to get off go ahead of them at the roundabout to stop and "remonstrate" with them maybe.

Just purchased a VholdR ContourHD 1080P Helmet Camera
for £114.99 on amazon - not a bad deal.
Helmet mount for £16.

What troubles me just a little here (I may just be having a thick moment) is what they were doing passing you on the left when you were doing 22-25 mph. You say it was the passenger on the driver's side.

That's a decent speed on a narrowish road, so I wouldn't want to have a car pass me on my left. Or was the car LHD?

I wouldn't have taken it to the Police, but I see that the majority think otherwise.

If it was someone from your place of learning, it may have been intended in a playful way. It may well have been potentially dangerous, but it may have been intended as just harmless mischief.

It's not clear whether you're staff or a student, or indeed whether the person you think you recognised is staff or student. Not that that makes a difference, but it opens other avenues - possibly dealing with it internally.

I would have thought that would make her a student, rather than staff !

Let's forget that, by definition, the cretin doing this is already too close to you, in a big, heavy vehicle evidently driven by an idiot (who else would think this was a good idea?)

If they misjudge the "slap", things go badly wrong. As in spinal injuries badly.

There was a spate of idiots doing this sort of thing (culminating in a couple of folk being shoved off, one sustaining very serious injuries) last year, as I recall.

It's not funny. At the very least, they need telling in no uncertain terms to stop doing it.

OP, good work in reporting it.

EDIT:
And, as someone pointed out in the other thread, you go up to someone walking down the street and slap their arse. See if they see the funny side.

....
its the physical contact that gets me and is the most serious aspect, in addition to the fact the OP was on his bike and the danger that entails.

Im not saying 'hang em high' but hell, if he had slapped her arse he would be looking at the inside of a cell tonight, career over etc

stupid girl needs a decent bollocking in front of said parents, headmaster involved and the driver needs a visit from the police for his / her obvious involvement in the incident.
