As long as I breathe, I attack.
The rear wheel on my virtuoso is making grinding noises, its not the wheel bearings as i greased them a couple of weeks ago.The freewheel is louder than i remember it being.
Had the wheel respoked inthe summer and the LBS told me that i had a flat spot on the rim that they could not true out.
I can get a new rear wheel for £35 from decathlon or about £39 from sjs unless anyone can suggest another cheap wheel for a road bike ,8 speed freewheel ?

Could be the races - the bearings are held between the race in the hub and the cone. These are curved polished surfaces which the bearings glide on - but if a chunk comes out because of pitting then the bearings don't so much glide as grind.

If the LBS has any really good road wheels check how smooth they are by pressing and turning the end of the axle - you should feel practically no roughness - then check yours.
