Do I need to get over 105?

With that £2-300 difference, are the wheels the same? Bar/stem/saddle too?

When I bought my bike the difference between the tiagra and 105 versions was £180 never had any shifting issues with my 9spd tiagra but ive never tried 105 so can't comment on difference's,However if I was to buy a new bike tomorrow id still happily get a tiagra equipped one

All excellent points guys. Very true about going for the best frame, it's easy to get side tracked with groupsets. I may end up being daft and getting something with 105, I just like the finer things in life....

That Planet X looks great for the money. Not so sure on the colour! Seems similar money to a few of the online sellers which I'm apprehensive about being a funny shape (38 inside leg, short torso, long arms)

This Sensa is an absolute dream. Obviously a relatively new make to the UK. Hopefully going to head over to Merlin and have a spin. Apparently they have a few test machines available. Great price with the 15% discount atm http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/bikes/road-bikes/sensa-bikes/sensa-trentino-sl-comp-2013.html

PX shop is in Rotherham yes, it is on a small business estate a few mile from Sheffield. I wouldn't count on them offering you much useful advise though if the massive time wasting experience I had is anything to go by.

I got 105 on my Pinnacle and it don't feel and different to the Tiagravon my brothers Scott. Indeed, the brake calipers are identical, all bar the 105s having slightly darker paint.

The slant parallelogram geometry is the same, the cable movement ratio is the same, both hinge on fluorine treated pins. There really is no mechanical difference aside from the shifters and whatever brand of cable is used (and 105 now having concealed gear cables that can have a detrimental effect in shifting feel).
