It's £10 million, not £10,000. The fact that you get it chucked in for free with a £30-odd membership fee tells you how often it's used. The fact that it potentially saves you £10m if you get sued tells you that people think it's worth having.

Like all insurance, you never value it until you need it.
I go with CTC, I reckon it's a small cost for a large potential benefit, especially the legal advice etc, though BC is good too. Many clubs will not let you ride without basic cover.
...neither of which is anything to do with the £10m 3rd-party liability cover. Which is intended to pay out if someone sues you. Both of you will have been helped by a different benefit - the tie-in with the firm of solicitors and access to no-win no-fee legal expenses insurance.
Just had my M+S home contents insurance through. It's gone up £320 from last year as the replacement bike for my stolen Yeti 575 is specified as being over £4k.
So thank you to the thieving bastard scum that ram-raided my garage last November, that's £320 I could have put to much better use
