Do people buy just rear calipers or would I be wasting my money?

Planet X have Sram Rival brakes on sale at the moment, and I'm looking for a front brake for my fixed road / track build in working on, and I like the aesthetic of these as they fit quite well with the hard angular lines of the frame.

Thing is, they only sell them in pairs, or rear only.

If I bought the pair, do you think I've have much luck selling on the rear? I can't imagine it's the kind of thing people look for so am worried I'd be stuck, and for that money I could probably buy a much better front.

I'd think that the vast majority of people buying just one brake would be, like you, after the front one.

It's only a guess, but perhaps Planet X sell the rear individually because they've been stuck with a load of them after selling the front seperately?

If I was desperate for that brake and no other brake would do, then I might take the risk...

Pssst they are 'usually' the same - if you can find a long concealed nut then you'll be fine - forks being deeper than stays !

(except campag who do a single pivot rear).
