If I don't do much cycling/running (well I hardly run any more I must confess) then I start getting "grumpy".

Same here. I once went a month waiting for a replacement frame and my team said by the end of it I was quite unbearable, to the point where they didn't want to come to me with problems or concerns as I was so grumpy:blush:

I absolutely love it, even when it's cold and dark and I'm squinting in the rain. I love the feeling of accomplishment at the top of a and I love pedaling my ass off on a flat to pick up speed and I love zooming down hills with my hair flying. While I'm glad that I'm saving money and saving the planet and getting exercise and all that, those are all completely secondary to the fact that I just really love riding. My commute is only a couple of miles, so usually I take a roundabout route just to get more time on my bike. Winter is the best - I'm a regular-clothes biker, and cold weather means I don't get sweaty.

So far this winter I've left the bike at home once, and that was only because I was away for the weekend and headed straight to the rail station from work with a travel case. It will take some serious ice to keep my bike inside.

Yeah was okay tonight....loads of rain, darkness and cars in jams...felt a bit like a siege situation which made it better.

New horn fitted, this should ruffle a few feathers.;)

I hated yesterdays commute in....windy, cold, chain to slack causing an annoying knocking sound, complete lack of effort!!

Actually, thinking about it, it was just that I was going to WORK that I didn't enjoy!

After a week of public transport I was so pleased to be riding again this morning, I felt so free and the sun came out which was a great sign. No rushing and still in the office half an hour early. Perhaps a week of gridlocked commuting is all people need to make them enjoy their ride in again.

;)

No,im too tired.13th commute in 15 days and 6th on the trot. One more to go after this then some days off.Tons of rush hour stuff and I notice they closed off Fleet Street yesterday.Idiots.Diverted via High Holborn.

Guess it will be ok though and no rain so far,not that I really care.

2 good days in a row. Wet ground, but clearing skies, brisk but not cold, wind no problem. No suicidal dogs or children, or their guardians shouting at me. Good progress, legs feel great, and a few hares to chase down (no, not scalp). Getting used to cycling through the dark park on the way home.

Loving the commute at the moment. Only problem is that I have an almost pathological need to put a coat on, as it is winter. Seems wrong leaving house/work without putting one on. Feels wrong and uncomfortable for the first minute or two.

I love commuting. I'm like a kid in the supermarket who's been told 'no' when asking for chocolatey cereal and a bag of sweets if I don't get my ride to work!

Hell, yes. I'm starting a new job next week, so I'll be going from 7 fairly flat miles each day to 22 miles over hills. I'm very much looking forward to it.

18 months on and still loving it.
Birmingham City Centre through the rain last night was frantic but exciting.
Earlswood Lakes with misty sunshine this morning peaceful and beautiful.

It's been good,14th commute in 16 days tommorow. The new double horn combo worked a treat today as I got diverted via Moorgate as they were digging? up Fleet Street.

The previous horn thingy although it was good I found was too clumsy and awkward so fitted a tidier setup.

New MR16 lamp has been working a treat,no probs with SMIDSY's not even from peds but 2 left hooks in the last 6 commutes.

Silly cow was even looking at me as she passed me tonight at Mile End before she did her "stunt" so she got a nice blow of the double horn combo 12v.;)

Give her that she signalled before she tried to wipe me out.
