Driving back from a skiing holiday in Austria in the 1970s, we stumbled upon a delightful village in Bavaria. Somewhere, I still have the photo of the three of us posing under the road sign.

The Wankdorf stadium in Bern (Young Boys) is now coyly referred to as the Stade de Suisse by commentators.

The cablecar to the top of the nearby fiddle mountain is called the Wankbahn.

That's clearly Orkney Twatt, which is very different from Shetland Twatt, though I'm sure they're both really nice.

On a similar vein there is a village in Dorset called Shitterton. I am sure it is a lovely place but it reminds me of post curry aftermath.
