Do we think threads are being locked far more quickly recently?

It seems to me that we are now getting threads locked very quickly at the moment. I would hate to see the chance for forum threads to develop being damaged by precipitate locking of threads, as this is part of how this forum traditionally has evolved.

Anyone else noticed how quickly threads have been locked recently?

I've noticed more threads with the padlock than usual, having said that, I haven't read them to judge if they are being closed prematurely, I hope they aren't.

There seems to have been a rash recently. Strangely enough, the really gritty angry ones of the past seem to be getting rarer, and I miss them. They developed an exciting "dynamic" (hateful word) but they were fun. I thought that over-sensitivity about Nelson Mandela was, frankly, a bit "Lady Diana". BTW, I do think he was a great man, so please don't pile in.
