I have Marathons but I'd never risk a ride of more than a mile or so without spare tubes and repair kit. Sod's Law tends to pick up on these things!

All tyres puncture. Just some more than others. I would always carry a tube and levers and some self adhesive patches whatever the manufacturer claims. Stranded in a valley in the Pennines with no phone reception and a very long walk home would not be my idea of fun.

Yep I've punctured the Marathons on my commuter twice now. It would be a long walk home. I have however reduced it down to just one spare tube rather than two.

I'm an realist. I ride with Durano Pluses but still carry spares. (Even carried basic spares when I had armadillos on my bike). More often than not I have ended up using them for other people, but I still would not risk being stuck +10 miles from home and no way of getting there - I can't currently walk that far due to a long term leg injury and my OH is often away from home with the car.

Although I love Durano Pluses, they are still easily puncturable so I carry two tubes and associated stuff when I'm out on those.

only had the 1 (a hawthorn thorn) in the 5,000 miles they have been on the bike so far. Even my OH has failed to have many fairy visits on them (think 2 in the 2,000 miles he has done in the same time period).

I did ride thousands of miles on them and I think I now treat them as the minimum I expect from a tyre. The bad days of Ultremo R1s which were allergic to damp are long forgotten.

I cycled 3000+ miles last year (including LEJOG) on M+s without a puncture. Early this year I have experienced 2, 1 like it had been pierced over the centre (don't know how it would have got through the tyre (nothing left in there)), the 2nd was a worn inner tube I replaced it with that split (not the tyres fault).

I voted yes as I only use Marathon+ on my touring bike, so I'm mainly a long way from home, no idea where the nearest bike shop is and therefore need to be independent.

If I commuted on them I'd be tempted not to bother, possibly.

Can I helpfully vote yes and no? I have punctured M+ tyres so I carry spares on my hybrid but don't bother on the folder as my commute is 100% urban and I'm never far from a bus stop or tube/train station.
