Do you check your tyres for debris?

Do people check their tyres regularly, or at all?

Inspired by @Pat "5mph" in the "What you hate about cycling" thread.

Choose whichever is closest to your maintenance regime.

Addendum, "puncture" includes all similar actions such as refitting a tubeless tyre after maintenance or intervention thanks @figbat

+1 for 'weekly', but not quite 'every ride'.

I am of the opinion that most punctures are caused by debris embedded in the tyre and get continually worked through the carcass of the tyre over a period of time as you ride along. By digging out these flints and glass particles on a regular basis I reduce the chances. I know thorns go straight through and s**t happens but most of the ones I have witnessed on group rides have been tiny bits of glass or flint, these have not just gone through the tyre in a single event. As I opened with, in my opinion.

Generally speaking, only if there's a reason such as riding over broken glass or something.

People used to make "flint catchers" although no idea if they actually did any good.

Before every important longer ride and whenever doing general bike tinkering.
Agree totally with @Domus - the majority of punctures are from stuff working through - I run my tyres to death but rarely get punctures by doing regular checking.
Oh - when touring I check the tyres every morning.
