in my touring bike kit I have a fake Leatherman which has pliers, so yes, but on other bikes, no....

I carry pointed nail file in the saddle bag. The point is good for removing flints/thorns. And the file for a mid-ride manicure before entering the cake shop

Ditto, but on my normal commuting bike in the saddle bag. Very handy to have.

I carry a Parktool - like a swiss army knife for bikes. Very useful! Contains a set of hex keys, screwdrivers, mini pliers, spoke key, etc. Very small and fits neatly into a saddlebag.

I do. I got them out the pound bin in B&Q - they're 10cm long and fit nicely into my tube sized saddle bag with the tube and levers.

It's something I'd never considered before, I guess it's horses for courses really.
My route does take in lots of remote country lanes so I'm at higher risk of those types of incidents than a city rider.
I'll stick a pair in the saddle bag, it's got to beat a tyre chewing session halfway home !

On tour, I did carry a multi-tool type doodah that has pliers on it.

Not on the commute though.
