I do. Lashing wind and rain today but I have a huge grin on my face after doing 18 miles. OK, I can't go as fast and I need to wear about 3 more layers but it's fun!

There's something about being out in the elements that makes me feel happy.

Am I weird or does anyone else feel this way

Cold is okay.
Rain is okay.
Wind is okayish.

But mixing them sucks.

Although, I find that if it starts raining whilst I am moving it is perfectly fine... but if it is raining when I want to set off then its a bit disheartening.

Big wind really upsets me. Fellow Mancunian commuters might well share my dread of trying to get past the West Point office building on Chester Road. A massive slab sided 70s beauty, it has its very own weather system with a permanant down draft that makes it feel like Spider Man has just stuck one of his sticky web thnigies to your back wheel. Rain I don't mind at all - it is weirdly euphoric coming in wet through after a bike ride.

I quite enjoy occasionally riding in the rain - especially when it is really heavy. Tonight, it was just spotting, so I got wet with none of the fun.

And the rain cleans the bike as well.

I hate the wet, but primarily beacuse of the crud that gets on the bike & the associated maintenance.

I disagree with the first, and agree with the second. When it rains, my bike gets covered in crud and small bits of grit. Then the light dry lube on the chain vanishes so that needs sorting. Wiping, cleaning and relubing the bike can often take longer than the ride itself.

I like being out no matter what. There is something about when you've been on a long ride when you've had a tough time and are wet, then you get home, clean off your bike, have a bath or shower then sit down to a nice coffee and a bit of tv.

Yep I'm crazy .

I was the same when I played rugby. There wasn't a more satisfying feeling than coming home after a long, wet & muddy training session or match, having a long hot shower (again) and relaxing with some food.

Not one bit. The novelty soon wore off when I used to cycle in all weathers. I did it because I had to. I didn't crow about it, just got on with it. Being buffettted and blown all over the road under the wheels of a moton was not fun or becoming soaked to the skin or being so cold life itself ebbed away from your fingers, toes and nose.

For me ideal cycling is sunny, 25-28C, a light following wind, good clean roads with little or no traffic. Who seriously would want amything else? Unless of course you were a masochist ...................

Bring it all on....don't even mind ice now with my studded tyres option on the MTB - will need fitting soon....

There is something very satisfying riding in extreme weather..... like huge down pours, heavy snow or howling gales that try and tip you over (oh and that shut all major mororway bridges).....heh heh - and you are the only person who gets into work on time...

For me it's the sense of a challenge, get your head down and drive through the rain, push against the wind and not letting it beat you. You can't match it - I've always been like that though, even playing footy in all weathers, just doesn't bother me.

And when people ask, it's the standard reply of - "It won't melt me, will it?"
