I eat a lot of nuts and seeds. I was reading an article the other day which suggested that soaking your nuts for a few hours was a good thing.

Does anyone do this and if you do are they any better or is this a load of nonsense?

;)

FWIW, I love nuts .... always eat them dry, never done me any harm. And very good nutritionally. I think the stomach juices won't have any problem digesting them ...

Don't you get soggy nuts if you soak them? That's what happens with pork scratchings anyway.

Apparently, you're supposed to re-dry them once you've soaked them.

What's the point of that then;)?

I like to soak them in whisky. But I drink the whisky frirst then throw the nuts in afterwards. It works for me:becool:.

I used to know a guy who always tipped a bag of peanuts into his cider. They floated up and down with the bubbles whilst he drank it and munched on them:tongue:.

You should really try soaking your cashew nuts before using them in eastern recipes - it makes a hell of a difference.

I would always moisten my legumes before introducing them to some endamame
