Do you use Schwalbe durano plus?

I've been using marathon +'s on my road bike commuter for a while now, the side walls have started splitting up so need to give up the ghost and get some new tyres, torn between marathons and durano plus, I know the protection belt is thinner on the duranos but I ride road only and the main culprits are glass and the odd metal flint. So will the duranos hold up well to this like the marathon plus, also if you use duranos what are they like in the wet? The marathons have performed well for me in all conditions all year round. I fancy trying something different, but should I just stick with the heavier marathons as I know they are pretty bomb proof. Any help from anyone that have used both would be appreciated before I part with my cash. Don't want to get duranos and then regret it after. Cheers.

I have been using Durano Plus for my commute over the past year. Over 6000 miles running the pot holed, crap strewn streets of SE London. In all weathers. I find them fast rolling, nice and grippy and good in the wet (& slush) I run them at 120psi both front and rear.
In that time I have had 2 punctures. 1 was a week after I got them (glass) so was a little disappointed. 2nd puncture was a small piece of wire a few weeks ago. Though I am a little OCD when it comes to checking my tyres for any crap stuck in them before any ride.
So a recommendation from me.

Brilliant tyres, run them on both of my roadies. Killed one rear (after about 4,000 odd miles) by running it under pressure. The front of that set is still going strong, now done nearly 7,000 miles!

I've just switched to running Durano plusses on the Cannondale. They seem to have a slightly harsher ride than the Michelin Krylions they replaced, but nothing bad really. So far so good...

PS: Spa Cycles are doing the wired London editions for £15 each which seems to be the cheapest I've seen - I may have to stock up on some more.

i run durano s which are lighter, folding and pretty quick, also good punctures wise, have had 1 that was tyre related in about 1000 miles.

Durano+ 25c folding version on my Secteur/commuter.
I really like them, they are not as infallible as M+ (in my experience) but are a good compromise of everything we want in a commuting tyre

Will buy again once these wear out.

I find them heavy and hard. But then I am used to riding on Ultremo, and more recently Vittoria Open Corsas - which are divine in combination with latex. Compared to Marathons they will seem light and fast.

Weight is never really an issue on my commuter, my panniers are stuffed with that much crap. The way I look at it is when I do go out on my weekend bike, I really do feel a difference in weight and performance with it being a lot lighter.

Durano Pluses 25c folding here as well. plenty of grip & confidence with them, used them all but 3 days through the winter when I baled to my mtb with studded tyres. Only the 2,500 miles on the so far, 1 fairy visit but it would have taken any tyre out (hawthorn thorn). If they last half as well as my marathon extremes I will be plenty happy enough (got 9,000 miles from the rear, front was still going when I stopped using it).
They are heavier and I do notice it, but I would rather be a touch slower than fixing fairy visits constantly which I used to be on my old tyres.

Oh - much prefer them over my marathon pluses - but in all fairness my m+ were on my tourer for a short while and these d+'s are on my road bike.
