Then go, armed with a stanley knife, to all those lamposts and railings that have fliers for discotheques cable-tied onto them. Then slice off the tie behind the little clip, bingo! one re-usable cable tie. OK they are going to be shorter then intended, but a few together etc.

So loads of free ties everywhere, fill your boots guys:biggrin:

Maggot, if you go armed with a small sharp bladed screw driver you can prise open the clip a litle bit and get the full cable tie, no bother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keith's right! Although you could use your original stanley to do the same thing.

I used to go in the stores at work and "rescue" packets of different sized ties before anyone could steal them.
Unfortuneately I now only have about 10 really small ones.
My ex, on the other hand, has 1000's in the shed !

Like you're ever going to see a copper on the footpath.

I love this idea - I'll be all cable-tied up this weekend.

That's not the point, there are times when you need one and the shops are shut. This is normally at the weekend when you're changing the position of the computer on the handle bars or the sensor on the forks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
