You know how disappointing it must be when you start a thread and no-one responds?

Well, pick a member and find the oldest thread they started which hasn't had a response. And make their day. Answer it.

Can you actually start a thread? I have seriously been wondering about that. Is the thread not started by the first person who responds, as before that it is only a post?

I've just looked at threads I've started - all 2 pagers! Cos I stay away from the a-head set type posts.

Percentage wise, probably no more than anyone else.

I like pp's point too. When does a thread become a thread? And what is it called if nobody responds? I'm sure we've all started a few that fall into that category.

I seem to recall that I started a thread to commemorate the fallen threads. The ones that you didn't respond to but wanted to acknowledge none-the-less. They also form a part of the rich life of any forum. A minutes silence kind of thing.

Oh, as you might have guessed from the Favourite Pop Songs thread my other half is there on a Girl's Night Out, but with living in Edinburgh (all our friends live in the West Midlands) I don't have to out up with the fall out, well at least until the Edinburgh Festival.
