Does anyone cycle RAB's with motorway slip lanes?

Pedal like a beast and make sure it is clear which lane you are taking. You don't necessarily need to ride smack in the middle of the lane, but don't straddle lanes and make sure you are far enough over to encourage drivers to use the other lane to overtake.

Lots of (left) shoulder checks to discourage anyone from doing anything stupid!.

Not sure where you are coming from or going to, but may years ago I used Southall Lane / High St to avoid this roundabout.

I cycle them occaisionally but as said by GrasB use the clearly defined lanes/ signals to your advantage and act like a small car.
I must admit though I'd look into alternate routes for those days when I don't feel like dicing with traffic (Southall Lane or the A437 High St could be ok road options or there are a few underpasses in between, Fullerway/Cranford Park or the rbt itself).

I go over one twice a day. It can be a little hairy, but I try to get in a strong position in the correct lane and ride predictably. Plenty of good advice above, so I'll leave it at that. Good luck!

I go over the first junction of the M18 on a regular basis. Special care’s needed as when driving I see plenty of ****s trying it on. Rush hour always has a few hundred meters of queuing traffic, so the prats try to get to the front, approaching and entering the RAB in the right hand lane to take the first exit.... Not seen a collision yet. I have seen a few near misses and heard a few horns. The worst being when a mondeo driver tried it when the left hand lane had a wagon carrying a static caravan. Wide load signs and flashing yellow lights just didn’t register till the last second when he realised the only way he wasn’t going to get wiped out was to bounce up the kerb on the offside of the entry slip. I really hope his suspension suffered!
Anyway to get back to the Ops question. I take the lane with as strong a primary as I can on the approach, a position I maintain all the way round. Loads of observations. Make ‘em obvious too – I work on the theory that drivers notice you more.
Final thought – make sure you maintain that primary position through the exit from the RAB. I didn’t use to. Its amazing how many drivers accelerate through the exit, even if theres a cyclist infront. It’s not a pleasant place to be squeezed out....

I do use them but the more sets of lights the better - I think all the ones I use locally on the M32, and M5 have lights on the roundabout (and alternative off-road paths), which help me. Watch out for motorcyclists ... they can accelerate off the roundabout a lot quicker than cars!
