Given the choice my youngest says bike. However in the real world school is 15 min walk or 5 min drive and 10 mins with the boy but wifey needs to be in school as a teacher at 08.30 at latest. It's a 15 min drive to work or a 30 minute ride for wifey not including getting to bike locking then getting changed at work . Extended hours opening ( breakfast club) starts at 08.00 and not a second earlier . What device is available to enable wifey to ride with son to work and then get to work on time or is she just not trying hard enough for you lot.

There will undoubtedly be more needy cases where the single mum drops off little Johnny at school on her way to her daily 23 hour shift at the pit. However, certainly at my local school, 99.9% of them are just lazy and drive to and fro, often only 3 or 400 metres each way, twice a day. The only one I know who doesn't is a guy I sometimes chat to, he works for network rail, finishes work at 1500hrs and drives like a loon to cover the 7 or 8 miles to school in 15 minutes.

But the bulk are simply fat, bone idle lazy. Else why are the roads so quiet during school holidays?

She doesn't park outside the school or even on same road as school. Parks two roads away . The road school is on is bonkers at 9am!
