Does anyone know a dressmaker/seamstress?

Mad question for you all, but does anyone know, is, or is married to a dressmaker or seamstress who might like an easy for them job - paid for of course?

I ask because I have an icebreaker cycling gillet which I use quite a lot through winter & spring and the 2 way zip has developed an issue and needs replacing. There is no damage whatsoever to the merino wool, it is all a zip problem only my sewing machine and abilty with it is lacking and I would rather pay someone on here to help than pick up the costs for LSR who want £8 just to return the item to me, before I have even sent it to them for a quote, before the repair costs and before the cost of the zip....

I have looked for a local one, but Northwich is lacking anything other than wedding dress shops (which i could try as a last resort but...)

Little word so it does not make you keel over - zips are actually quite expensive! Had a new zip put in a pair of Jeans and the zip alone cost about £13 which was a bit of a shock to me

I know. I'm expecting the zip to cost around £25 or so, but so far even without a quote I know it is going to set me back well over £40 using LSR (from looking at their price list).

Do you ever go to Manchester? There must be a lot of residential, home-run businesses in the Asian 'ghetto' areas. The darzies (tailors) here in Leicester, for example, would sew that zip on for you for a fiver.

Go to your local sewing, stitching and knitting shop. Ask the nice lady behind the counter if they can recommend someone. Get given a card with a list of numbers on it. Lose the card.

I've been to SatNavs house, and can hazard a guess at the number of dry cleaners within 5 miles of it. Possibly, none!
