Does anyone know weights for Specialized & Cannondale bikes?

I have browsed their respective websites.
Cannondale advise to go to a dealer and 'See for yourself' and Specialized don't (or not that I've seen anyway) advise any weights on their bikes.

I'm considering a few bikes at the moment

Trek 5.2 2008
Specialized Tarmac Expert 2008
Scott Addict R4
All around the £2k to £2.3k price.
I'm not sure if there are many other bikes I like.
Orbea, Viner and Wiliers are appealing.
Colnagos any good? Pinnarello's?

Cheers all

I wouldn't have thought that weight would differ much with those.

Our old Spesh dealer said that they don't quote weights because it depends on which model in the range, and they're scared of being sued if they're wrongly described.

Blimey....bit harsh..

If anyone owns any of the above models then if you could let me know your thoughts it'd be much appreciated.

I don't know if this is of help, because you are looking at bikes above the price range of mine, but I have a 2007 Cannondale Synapse SL in 105 trim which I love. It weighs in at a midge over 18lb with Keo pedals.

Cheers for that.
Probably looking at a Systemsix though (albeit a cheaper version).
Would ideally like to go sub 16.5lbs,
My Felt weighs in at 18.4lbs without pedals......but as I'm selling I thought I'd go for something pretty light but still strong responsive.

I do like all Cannondales though.......always dreamt of owning one since I was a nipper.

supposedly some manufacturers quote the smallest frame pre paint and without pedals, makes it all meaningless so even those that are honest don't quote because it makes them look heavy

anyhow, by the time your fat arse and kit is on board the %age is piss all init

I have narrowed it down to 2 bikes I think.

Scott Addict R4 Compact
Trek madone 5.2 Pro/Performance

I like the Cannondales and Specialized too.......the Trek got a great review.

Make sure you're comparing like-with-like : I love the grouptest reviews in C+ and CW where they give weights, but sometimes there's a Small of one bike, a 55 of another and a 58 of a third...

Not sure entirley what you mean Andy.
Although on Wiggle they compare their Focus range to bikes often costing far more.....to show the bikes spec is the same...

I'm very tempted by two of the Focus Models now.

The Izalco Team at £2399 or the Cayo pro at £1699.
Both are mighty tempting and of course get high praise.
They offer an excellent all round package.
...

I meant that the magazine grouptests give the weights of the bikes, but sometimes they have different sizes - a proper comparison would be all of them the same size, not one a large and the other a small and no wonder the smaller one's lighter
