Does anyone know what happened to Cycling Promotions?

The company of the pile em high and sell then sometimes not so cheap one day sales in your local sports centre.

I used to get mail from them when they were due in our area, and their website is no longer available.

Are they still in business?

I went to a couple of their events at the leisure centre in the Gorbals.

Going in the prices they charged, I'm not surprised they went bust!

They folded a while back along with the associated bike shop near Barnsley/Rotherham. Apart from cheap GT85 I failed to find any worthwhile bargains at their sales I probably spent more on petrol than I saved on the GT85.

Planet X has taken over their warehouse building in Barnsley, not sure what happened to the staff or whether they were taken on by PX.

Yup they went bust and IMHO brought down the York Cycle Rally who were over reliant on the income for their huge marquee being used solely for them.

That's a great pity, if the staff have gone. The Barnsley shop served me very well for twenty years - one of those places where if you kept going in for bits and bobs, instead of buying them off t'internet, they automatically gave you a good discount.
