Can’t remember exactly but wasn’t there a make of cycles called Sun Cycles It looks vaguely similar from what I remember to their head badge.

I should carefully remove the paint with a toothbrush and some stripper, there seems to be some writing under the paint.
Alternatively Google Bike head badges and see what comes up.

You could try some cellulose thinners on it to remove the paint . It tends to affect the most recent paint first.

I spotted the bike on a farm (in a bush) while walking the dog. I’ll try and get through the paint on my next walk.

Did you use a wire brush ?
No...
But lifting the top coat of green with some M-grade wire wool reveals a pretty sketchy surface. Looks like someone used coarse sandpaper in the past.
A little investigation over the weekend and then I will decide whether to restore or not. Perhaps one for the winter months.
