In the eyes of the law, of course it does. I personally stop at traffic lights but will admit to once in a while rolling through a pedestrian crossing if safe and clear.

I bugs me no end, when powering past another cyclists, I stop at lights only to have them roll past and straight through the lights only for this to occur again and again. What are the general thoughts regarding this?

What is the difference between you doing it 'safely' and others doing it in front of you?

Not condoning it all. Its completely wrong. Just wanted to point out i wasn't holier than thou and are sometimes guilty of running a red.

An honest reply - thanks.

I don't like it, I have been getting wound up about it and have been known to shout at rjl. I try not to as it will generally achieve very little.

Here for rides.
Red does not mean STOP at roadworks where there is single file traffic if it is "just" a cyclist coming through the road works, apparently.
Of course not.

Nor does red mean stop if your German car came with a traffic light compliance exemption certificate. It's usually in the handbook stapled to the page where it says not to use indicators.
