Does these numbers help tell year of bike??

Hello just been out tidying oily rag restoring my bsa pathracer and these numbers showd up just where seat fits in any free websites or people that can help put a year on my bike please? Thanks all BSA pathracer...resto under way 50410 is the number

Yep, usually the number there denotes the year if manufacture. Just need some info on how to decide it :smile:

From 1942 to 1950 it was just numbers I think. 410th bike in 1950 ?

Bikes this old are not my strong point, I'm a child of the 1970's lol

These were a mass-produced product, so I'd expect the numbering to be sequentially ascending, not using any digits as date identifiers. They'd be producing thousands of frames a year not hundreds. Low private car ownership back then, bikes were mass utility transport.
