Went out to my car this morning, it was still dark and I wasn't really awake.

Began chatting to my neighbour who was also defrosting his car.

Reached in, picked a can off the passenger seat and began spraying while not paying attention.

Then realised I was spraying red paint all over my windscreen

Luckily it all wiped off.

It could have been worse, you could have sprayed graffiti all over Leicester before you realised you were using de-icer.

Don't use nasty chemicals to de-ice my car, the scraper we have does a really good job and takes no time at all.

And you're unlikely to use red paint by mistake....

We just use a scraper. This morning we had to : heat up a battery with a hair dryer (not kn...ered, then I found a fan heater, then he removed battery & put it in sink supported by two knives on bottom of sink, with quite hot water. It then started. Not been used for a few days, even though it's a new battery.

New use for fan heater. Place inside car to de-ice windscreen!

Personally I wouldn't bother at all going out in car this weather but have 89 year old Mum who needs visiting and maybe getting stuff for. She had de-iced her little car & gone to Sainsbury's this morning!!! Mr Campfire had to go to see if his ind unit had frozen up, otherwise he wouldn't have gone either!

We don't have any vehicle that new! It's got to be one of the best things invented for this weather.

But make sure you don't point the fan heater directly at the windscreen unless you want to crack it.

Am I the only one to wonder why you had a can of red paint on the seat in the first place??

Why not? My Skoda is only a work car and as such is just a shed extension.
