stepson goes for 2.5hr interview and discussion to a local warehouse last week taking all his documentation with him ie birth certificate , passport and national insurance details . gets told to go back on thursday this week .so great we think its gives him a job during school hols fast aproaching , and he can then see if he wants to back for 2 nd yr of 6th form or go looking for work .

the warehouse have just rung him to make sure still turning up 2moro so he says you do realise i am 17 not 18 and gets told not to bother then due to there health & safety policy . so they must have had a good look at all his docs last week .

it does make you wonder

That's unfair of them to get the poor boy's hopes up just because they're apparently unable to check a date of birth properly. Fingers crossed it's not knocked his confidence too much and that he gets something to keep him busy over the summer.

Madness, madness......what is the extra risk of a 17 year old over an 18 year old? He could be married with a kid at his age or playing international rugby or winning a gold medal in the olympics.....grrrrr

if we lived in or nearer to olympic venues he could have volunteared to help with the security !
