fair play to Michael McIntyre.

Girl who works for me got into a bit of a financial mess a couple of years ago after a boyfriend left her with a pile of debt and these bastards hounded her on an hourly basis on her house, mobile and work numbers.

It was affecting her work and I found out. I sorted it out and had the displeasure of talking to this mob. Utter bastards. The things they were telling and threatening this poor girl were horrendous.

McIntyre walks out on debt collector gig

Michael McIntyre ditched a comedy gig at the eleventh hour after reportedly realising that he was about to face an audience of debt collectors.

The comic had been due to pocket £28,000 at the private party for Kent-based Cabot Financial Limited at London's O2 arena.

McIntyre only discovered who the party was for an hour before he was due on stage and pulled out as performing would have been against his principles, reports the Sunday Mirror.

The 33-year-old has faced debt problems in the past, and said that he would never have agreed to the event had he known what the firm did.

His spokesman said: "Michael was in debt himself and has a conscience, especially at this time of year."

Cabot Financial were unavailable for comment, although a source said that organisers of the event were left furious by his decision and had to find a last-minute stand-in.

Good on him. Not many people have principles worth nearly £30 000.

Agree with the topic title, was just saying the same to Mrs Stephec when I found out he's on Alan Carr tonight.

I've never found him funny, but he would have been hilarious if he'd have gone up on stage, stuck up two fingers, told them where to go, and then walked out.

Well done Michael!

fair play to him for saying no to a shower of bastards but when you can pay £3 million cash for your house, you can afford a nice set of principles to go with it.

£28 grand a gig and he's doing the same work night after night, not bad going. I'd be less jealous if he was even remotely amusing.

Good on him - I've seen him live and he seems to bounce off the audience a lot which takes some skill. I imagine that would of been hard work with a bunch of debt collectors without being outright insulting, so can understand why he bailed.

If you get the chance to see him live, do so - very good indeed.

Off to see Sean Lock this weekend - looking forward to that.
