Don't go victimising my pets whilst I knock you off your bike.

A guy carrying that much technology ( front & rear view camera) is obviously our looking to cause trouble, how many times does he squeeze past vehicles.

[QUOTE 3732561, member: 9609"]the cyclist has my sympathies in the incident he was knocked off, it should have been obvious to the driver that the cyclist was pushing in, it is debatable if the cyclist should have forced his way in front, but even if the cyclist was in the wrong the driver was well out of order for trying to pass.

My thoughts are similar. The cyclist was in front of the car by a decent distance and it was obvious the road was narrowing. The driver ignored this and overtook, when it wasn't safe to do so. Then the driver remonstrated with the cyclist for hitting his car and the passebger for victimising her pets. They then refused to give details and drove off. It's like blaming someone for getting in the way of your knife when you stab them. Not cool.

An alternative view is that the cyclist was merging into the right hand lane and should've ensured it was safe to do so. Bit of both in my estimation.

Driver and passenger acted like dicks afterwards though.

Definitely a bit of both, who tries to squeeze through that grist space rather than wait a moment! I'm not sure I can tell whether he looked before moving over or just expected the space to appear after a signal he says he did. Still didn't excuse the driver who also should have been expecting the cyclist to move out.

Bit a an awkward one as its in roadworks, so the road making may not be applicable, as they are being directed up the wrong way of a one way street. It does look like the car is in the right position, and the bike crosses a line.

BUT a little observation and planning from either could have avoided that whole thing.

However, the driver is guilty of being a proper cockney, there isn't and "a" in the "f" word.

Left turn incident aside that was poor driving and poor cycling IMO however genuine mistakes and accidents do happen. If he wasn't trying to hit the car he may not have lost his balance and fallen off, the driver and rider may have apologised to each other at the next set of lights and the whole incident could have been a non event.
This is not excusing the driver of course as it was a stupid overtake and he should have anticipated better and their argument afterwards was certainly cringe worthy.
A non event between three people that could have been avoided IMO

The overtake that knocked him off /caused him to fall off was ridiculously dangerous car driving ,what a pair of weirdos got out of the car.

Prior to that the car indicating left in the cycle lane may have purposely done that to try and prevent a bike dangerously nipping up the left which the idiot did into the tiny gap unbelievably.

If it was the same cyclist then I would say he gives as good as he gets.
Am I glad I don't live in a big city.

If it was a "bit of both" then the driver wouldn't have been found guilty of driving without due care. To be guilty of a criminal offence, the burden of proof has to be beyond reasonable doubt. If it was 50:50 the driver wouldn't have been convicted.

I'd have been hitting the car there myself, as I'd have been freaking out. I wouldn't want to fall into railings or be squashed!
