Is it a case of not seeing them or not wanting to see them, I think in most cases it's the latter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dunno... I think people just don't look, but think they do. It's like peds who cross the street without checking if its clear, or folk who open doors before looking if anything is coming.

Motorvehicles imo are big techinal peices of machinery and I've always wondered why there werent 5 year refresher courses by law to help remind drivers why they need to know this info. I have many times emailed the government about this. God I sound political on here, hehehe!!

I think its great what they're doing with Lorry drivers. I will say they and bus drivers are pretty advanced compared to regular nissan-lady going to work, they change routes often and dont keep to the same route day in day out to only get flumuxed by a trip out of town oneday

asl?

i'm assuming asl is some sort of official bike lane you have? Be thankful you have them. Most roads in the city where I live don't even have them. You have a public transport system that also makes it easy to hop on the bus w/ your bike. There are some larger cities here that are getting better but we have a long way to go...guess it's time to organize.

The ASL, or advanced stop lane, is a box just for cyclists at traffic lights.

Yes I've read of the problems the USA has with cycling. It makes my heart weep just thinking about it and I've read that LA and Texas are two of the worst places for cycling.

Locally we cant hop on busses with cycles.. well you can with a brompton when its folded, but its only trains at certain times around here that let bikes on.

Slowly things will change. Just a shame it is slowly.
