I did something very similar some years ago, went into the LBS for an inner tube and came out with a Dawes giro 400.

Funny that, I am the exact opposite, go looking for a bike and come out usually with a cycling cap [plus I'm picky, don't do Specialized, Giant, Trek, Cannondale, Dawes, Bianchi or any of the popular big names because everyone has them].
Wonders why I now need a bigger chest of drawers to put my caps in.
Unless anyone has a spare Parlee with Lightweight wheels going cheap...........
