Do you operate a breakdown recovery service?
Driving into the roadside grass is best avoided, it can damage drainage and cause erosion of road edges, also wheels can enter concealed drainage culverts which will require outside assistance to get back on the road.
You misunderstood what I was getting at.
The lanes around here have 'Devon banks' - see picture below.

When I said ' put it in the overhanging grass', I meant the greenery that adheres to the bank. There is generally over a foot of space available on your nearside after you start to hear grass tapping your door mirror.
The type of driver I am referring to is the one who refuses to budge one inch thereby causing unnecessary hold ups.

Where do you go here, when faced with something the size of this(note the front spikes), when there's a car driver trying to pass?

The gate on the left was in use, so that's not an option. Driver of the tractor knew me so slowed down to less than walking speed
If you're the one in front of the above, you've an extra incentive to stay out if it's way.

Would you argue with the driver?

Just behind the camera is a small rise, not uncommon to see cars airbourne in either direction.

Get on with life and worry about the things that matter. No wonder people get heart attacks.

Chill a bit...I just mutter it to myself and don't let it bother me.

If I let someone through , now I don't look at them but raise my hand as a wave , if they don't acknowledge then I don't see it and don't then have it bother me ..
Life's way too short to worry about daft stuff ..

Of course there are a few muppets who do the opposite. That happens in all walks of life and in every situation. I just choose not to take any notice of them. Why let a numpty or two ruin your day.

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't let it bother me, I don't worry about daft stuff, it doesn't ruin my day and I am in no danger of a heart attack. I just think such miscreants and all their progeny should be removed from the gene pool with extreme prejudice and as much pain as possible, that's all.

Is it good manners to not move over to allow oncoming vehicles through?
Some of them sit in the middle of the road, 2 - 3 feet out from the bank, and refuse to move over to allow others through. They expect oncoming traffic to reverse, when all they have to do is put their nearside into the overhanging grass.
Maybe they should rethink their route if they are so frightened of a few minor scratches, or are incapable of reversing on a narrow lane.
I once encountered a guy in a BMW X3 who refused to reverse about 50 yards to a passing place, when I met him I had 4 other cars behind me and he had none.
I had to get out and explain to him that, unless he moved, we would be there all day.
He attempted to reverse and ended up going lock to lock into the banks on both sides. After about 5 minutes he had gone back approximately 20 yds. I got out again and offered to back his car up for him, to ease the situation, as by now several other vehicles were stacked up behind me. All I got was a load of verbal abuse.
Feck you, I thought, got back in my car and let him get on with it. Several minutes later he finally got to the passing place. I gave him a cheery thank you wave as I passed.
He was looking very flustered and I don't think his missus and kids were very impressed.
The car was on a London plate and he sounded as though he came from that way.
Similar situations, of varying degrees, happen all the time in holiday season.

It's the - "I've got an expensive new motor - so you've got to give way" - syndrome.

I have to admit I wouldn't like my car scratches did I had an expensive one but I wouldn't be a prune about it I had to give way.

Well handled with that X3 guy.
